Fall League Handbook – Rules & Regulations

Welcome to the Fall League at Links & Drinks. Our mission is to provide a competitive yet social environment for golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. To ensure fair play and a smooth experience for all participants, please review the following Fall League Handbook:

Registration Info

Online registration will open to the public on August 24th. There will be a public registration link located on our booking website under the Memberships & Leagues icon. All customers in our database will also receive an email containing a registration link

All players must sign up individually and pay the registration fee of $200/player. During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate your team's name. Please make this decision with your partner before registering. The registration fee must be paid using a credit card online. We do not accept cash, gift cards, or any other form of payment for our leagues.

Format

2-person teams | Match-Play | 2nd Ball Breaks the Tie

You and your partner will play 9-holes each week. Your hole-by-hole scores will be compared to every other team’s hole-by-hole scores. Your team can win a hole in 2 different ways (Player A & B are teammates vs. Players C & D):

1.) Player A = 3 Player B = 4 Player C = 4 Player D = 4

Team A&B wins the hole since player A had a lower score than both C & D.

2.) Player A = 3 Player B = 4 Player C = 3 Player D = 5

Team A&B wins the hole. Since A & C tied, we then look to players B & D to break the tie.

Points: Match won = 2 | Match Halved = 1 | Hole won = 1 | Hole Halved = 0.5

Scheduling

All league weeks start on Monday. You may play your 9 holes M-Th from 10a-10p, Friday from 10a-6p (must be done by 6p), or Sunday from 9a-10p. If you are unable to play during a given week, you can schedule a makeup round for that week anytime before the season ends. We ask that you play leagues weeks in order and attempt to make any missed weeks up as soon as possible so we can keep the standings up to date and accurate. Upon registration, each player will receive 4 credits to book your team’s times throughout the season. You may choose which teammate books which times, but you both must book half of your rounds. Individual make-up rounds will not be allowed at any point throughout the season. If one player on a team must miss a week, both players need to find time to play that round together.

Tees

Men will play from the BLUE TEES

Senior Men (55+) will have the option to play from the WHITE TEES (must indicate this decision on your registration form. Failure to do so could result in the disqualification from the competition aspect of the league.)

Women will have the option to play from the RED TEES (further) OR GREEN TEES (shorter) (must indicate this decision on your registration form. Failure to do so could result in the disqualification from the competition aspect of the league.)

Course Settings

All settings will remain the default FullSwing Golf settings, aside from the gimme distance. Gimme distance should be changed to 10ft. The system will default to using 8ft gimmes. If this is not changed to 10ft by the league participant, all scores from the round will stand, and replay will not be allowed. Please ask Links & Drinks staff for assistance setting up your league round if needed.

Handicaps

*NEW* - A randomly chosen week during the first four weeks of the season will be used to establish your individual handicaps. The score from the randomly chosen week will be used to establish your initial handicap, and that will be used to score week 1. Going forward, all scores will count toward your handicap, and your index will be updated weekly. Players will receive 85% of their handicap strokes each week. The maximum score on any given hole is net double par (i.e. a net 8 on a par 4).

60 or less teams: We will not split into two divisions

61 or more teams: We will split teams into two divisions (LINKS and DRINKS) based on combined team handicaps through week 4

Scoring

All scoring will be done using the Golf Genius tournament software. At least one player on each team needs to have the Golf Genius mobile application available and ready to use. You will receive an email from Golf Genius no later than Friday, October 9th. Please use the link in the email to register for a Golf Genius account. You will enter each player’s hole-by-hole scores into the app during your round, and the leaderboards will update in real-time. Scoring will be finalized and published each Monday following the week’s play. If you have played in one of our leagues in the past, you will automatically be registered into the league and can use your Golf Genius email and password to access the league immediately.

Season Tournament

Following the conclusion of the regular season on December 13th, final season standings will be posted and emailed to all league participants. If there are 60 or less teams in the league, the top 8 teams will be invited to compete in the Season Championship Tournament. If there are 61 or more teams in the league, the top 4 teams from each division (LINKS and DRINKS) will be invited to participate in the Season Championship Tournament. The Season Championship Tournament will take place on Thursday, December 17th from 6pm-9pm. Invited teams will be placed into an 8-team bracket, and compete in 6-hole matches, using a modified alternate-shot format, until two teams remain. The final 2 teams will compete in a 9-hole, modified alternate-shot, match for the Championship. The two teams losing in the semifinals will also compete in a 9-hole, modified alternate-shot, match to determine 3rd place. Tournament team handicaps will be determined using the USGA suggested method for alternate-shot matches. If an invited team is unable to participate in the tournament, alternate teams from the same division as the team unable to participate, will be invited in order of final standing. The 8 teams that participate in the tournament are guaranteed the top 8 positions in the final standings of the league, regardless of where they finished in the regular season.

Player Party

All 2026 Fall League Participants, and their families and friends, are invited to spectate the Season Championship Tournament, and enjoy discounted beverages and free food samples from 6pm-9pm on December 17th as well!

Schedule
